Some of you may have already heard that we will be getting married in our garden. The house was purchased just 2 years ago and has been in renovations since. We have, during these 2 years, moved a total of 8 times, at the time of the wedding we will finally have made Can Mopi our home. It may not be entirely finished and you may see some small or very big hints of progress here and there but it’s part of the charm.

In Spain there is a tradition of naming houses. In Mallorca usually you start with “Can” meaning “The house of” followed by the name of the house. After many closed paths and a few discussions we finally found our name sitting in a cafe on the outskirts of Palma, Can Mopi.

Mopi comes from a majorcan folklore. It’s a story about the imaginary creatures that live here on the island. These creatures are invisible, but you can somehow sense their presence. Parents on the island will tell their children to go outside and chase Mopies and splash them with water. This; being splashed by water from no apparent reason is how you know you are in close proximity to a Mopi. So we are very excited to invite you to our home, start this new chapter of our lives with you, our closest friends and family, and if you are lucky maybe you will also encounter your very first Mopi.
